Not only does my home have two toddlers but I also have a beautiful dog and cat that make the cleaning job even tougher. It’s tough to keep our homes clean on a daily basis but it’s even tougher to do it with non-toxic products. This week, I’m working with Tonya Newsome, Founder of The Hoot All Natural, to bring you a line of non-toxic, green products and bring awareness about harmful chemicals.
As you probably already know by now, most cleaning products you find in stores are loaded with chemicals that can be harmful to your family, especially to young kids and pets. With more and more research on the harmful effects of chemicals found in many of our household cleaning products, it would only make sense to find and switch to alternative methods. In this case; non-toxic, green, environmentally-friendly products like The Hoot All Purpose Cleaner.
What’s the Hoot about The Hoot All Natural’s All Purpose Cleaner

About the Company: The Hoot All Natural Story
My name is Tonya Newsome. As a working woman, wife and mother of two, I have acquired more than 20 years of cleaning/housekeeping experience. While cleaning in my home and others, I began to notice that many of the cleaning products that I used were damaging and irritating my hands; in addition I also began to experience respiratory issues due to the harshness of the products. In 2014, I began researching the chemicals that were used to create these products, armed with this new information, I decided there had to be a better and more natural way to clean. After many months of trial and error of mixing natural ingredients in my home, The Hoot All-Purpose Cleaner was born. My product allows anyone to attain the clean, fresh home that you know and love, minus the chemicals and side effects. It’s my hope that after using this product you will be motivated to also join the all natural movement and give a HOOT!
I love her story because it’s exactly what mommy engineers do. We “invent. innovate. design” our way through life. That’s what motherhood looks like to us. Her story is that she found a problem and she’s set and determined to fix it. We need more people just like Tonya Newsome to make our world and our children’s futures much brighter.
Another really amazing thing about Tonya and The Hoot All Natural Company is that every purchase you make contributes to a community in need. Not only does The Hoot All Natural Company want to educate and bring awareness to the exposure of harmful chemicals in our cleaning products but with harmful chemicals found in our food as well. The community garden program works with low-income neighborhoods where access to fresh fruit and vegetables are not readily available.
By placing the gardens in these neighborhoods, it not only provides access to healthier food options, but also provides a way to educate, brings unity, and helps reduce crime. -Tonya, Founder of The Hoot All Natural
Q&A With Tonya, The Hoot All Natural
I was able to ask Tonya some questions about her company, product, and future goals.
How did you go about choosing your product ingredients?
Tonya – I started by doing research and learning the names and effects of chemicals in cleaning products. That is how I build the base of what ingredients to use in my products.
What was your favorite/memorable experience with developing your product? What struggles did you have to overcome to achieve your all natural, non toxic, environment friendly product?
My favorite memory was when I finally got the ingredients correct and the product not only worked it did not smell like vinegar. My struggle was making sure ingredients were natural.
Can you tell me a little more about building community vegetable gardens? How did you get that started? The progress it has made? I can imagine you are changing peoples’ lives!
I am in the process of talking to churches and community leaders about the benefits of having community garden. This has been more challenging than expected. I refuse to give up because I know this can bring low income neighborhoods together and help lower crime. We become our brothers keeper.
Are you planning to expand your community outreach? If so, what would you need to be able to do that?
In the future, I would love to expand across country bringing awareness of chemicals in our cleaning products, foods and building community gardens.
One last question! Are you looking to expand your product line?
Yes, I do want to expand. I have been working on air/linen freshener.
The Review: The Hoot All Purpose Cleaner by The Hoot All Natural
I’ve been using the lemon and orange-scented The Hoot All Purpose Cleaner for about two weeks now. I’ve been working through my house finding different surfaces, stains, and challenging areas where I’ve used this to clean and disinfect my home including:
- My kitchen counters, cabinets, and stainless steel appliances
- My bathroom surfaces
- Also wood, glass, and plastic table surfaces.
- Cleaning windows, blinds, mirrors and sliding doors
Other non-conventional uses I’ve tried:
- To clean up spills of milk, juice, and other random food off my carpets
- Quickly disinfect my washing machine after each use to prevent mold build-up
There are definitely many things to like about The Hoot All Purpose Cleaner. I love that I can easily read and understand the ingredients in this product. I can easily search each ingredient for its benefits and love that every ingredient is 100% All Natural. The scent of the lemon and orange have been wonderful, it’s not overbearing and I love just how clean it smells in my home!
The fact that I can use this for many different things around my house is not only efficient but cost-effective at only $5.95 per 32 oz. bottle! If that doesn’t sell you, the fact that your purchase contributes to a wonderful community outreach program should! The lives this company could change with one greener, healthier household at a time is extraordinary and such a beautiful concept to support!
